Oh my GOSH! I had this, recently! (1987)

I was living in San Francisco then, on 6th. street in the Baldwin House Hotel (P. I. T. S. / S. R. O.) and traded with another OLD RADIO NUT for this Beat-aye-Full Radio! I spent hours listening to SW Broadcasts on it! I never had ANY problems, as Larry bought it from ALADDINs RADIO shop way out in the Richmond...on IRVINE about 40th Ave...I later started going there to WORSHIP the GODS of COMMUNICATIONS in their SPLENDOUR! (These Old Testament-type Gods were Worthy of Worship! You stick you fingers in the NEST of WIRES under the CHASSIS and , just like in the TORAH, "HaShim would JUMP OUT and ZAP YOU!" ) The GROWELLED and made STRANGE NOISES (SuperRegens!) and GLOWED with OZONE ODORS! These new-fangeled PC gods are totally unworthy of FEAR. ("Thou shalt FEAR the Lord thy G-d!) cool solid state silly gods of such little value, I SEE THEM LITTERING the TRASH CANS & DUMPSTERS....while the ZENITH of GLORIOUS OLD GODS are CHERISHED & COLLECTED by the "Hassidim/Ultra Orthodox / FEAR the LORD old folks" Like Myself!
& no, I am NOT using a VACUUM TUBE COMPUTER...I live in a Apartment in Tijuana....NOT a 18 Room Mansion...otherwise I might very well TRY to get "NOVAC" the HUGE Vacuum Tube Computer! HI!
"This is a COMMENT....although you may have lost the thread...About the Philco! " I remember when the Swap Shop of Mr. Montgomery in Hot Springs, Ark. used to sell ME these radios for $3.00 or so. I bought a ???RCA???that had a TELEPHONE DIAL on front to DIAL IN stations...for $15.00. in 1969. My NEW BRIDE from Old Mexico rightfully came to believe her New Husband was "Loco en la Cabeza!"
when we Returned from a Trip to Milwaukee with RUINED TIRES & SHOCKS in our 1958 Olds Convertable loaded down with 20 TONS of Mil. WW2 Radio Gear..& pulling a Ren-All loaded with my 1969 BMW + a BC-610!

"Still crazy after ALL these years!"
The wife LEFT me in 1974- RADIOS cannot walk! BOATANCHORS keep my LIFE STABLE! 73
