THE MEN FROM THE MINISTRY(SA)
Based upon the BBC Radio series. The early episodes were taken from the BBC Scripts. When these scripts dried up, many new scripts were written in South Africa. The South African version also had two unique characters not featured in the BBC series, namely Humbert Snetterswaite and Rampasad Harry, an Indian character. The series aired originally on Springbok Radio between 1969 to 1985, the last episode airing on 29 December 1985. The series was returned in 1994 on Radio South Africa and lasted until 1995. Many of the episodes in the 1994/95 era were redone episodes of previous Springbok Radio scripts. The majority of episodes in circulation date from 1969 and 1970, also from the 1994/95 Radio South Africa episodes. Another 100 plus Springbok Radio episodes are being restored in South Africa.
